Hades 2 Technical Test If you're a fan Supergiant Games, and their well-known 2020 roguelike Hades is a good bet, then it could be worth your while to sign up to take part in the technical testing for its sequel. The studio has announced it's Early Access launch will be imminent, and a playtest with a smaller number of people than the full 1.0 version will help them get any bugs fixed. It's simple to sign up by visiting the Steam page of the game and pressing the “request Access” button. However, those selected for the technical test will not be able to carry over their progress into the Early Access build. Supergiant plans to “reset the game from the start” once it reaches Early Access, so no save data from the playtest will be transferred over. 2. Hades 2 Early Access Hades 2 is officially in early access and is available for purchase on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Players who choose to buy the game will unlock both the early access version as well as the 1.0 full release once it launches in 2024, which Supergiant Games has confirmed will be sometime in 2024. The original Hades is an iconic modern classic. The sequel however, is a complete ripoff in nearly every way. The roguelite is more detailed and a satisfying combat experience than before. It's an entirely realized game just waiting for a few final details to become an outstanding game. In addition to its stunning visuals, Hades 2 introduces a number of new and interesting characters and features that enhance the experience and test players in ways they've never expected. Alongside the new gods shades, and other items that populate the Underworld there's a range of items available to collect and upgrade via Incantations. This system of permanent upgrades can be found throughout every game. Melinoe can also create new spells, improve her Nocturnal Armor and Nocturnal Armor, collect items from the crossroads camp to use in future runs, and unlock weapons, trinkets boons, paths and other tools as she goes. Another great addition is the addition of more open regions which provide a variety of different routes to explore each region, and an ever-changing setting to explore. Each region offers a unique take on the Underworld. Some are more accessible than others, but all offer unique challenges that separate them from other roguelites. Supergiant has also redesigned the gameplay in the early access build. This has reduced some of the grinding needed to reach certain upgrades and makes it simpler to move between different areas. There's plenty of work to be completed before the game hits its full release however, the studio has made it clear that it's keen to make the most of player feedback and keep working to bring Hades 2 to a perfect state. Supergiant is renowned for its ability to listen to its fans and address any issues that may arise. This is evident in the way that it dealt with the early access release of Hades 2 It could be a while before the full version launches but it's already worthy of a place on your gaming shelf along with its predecessor. 3. Hades 2 Beta Hades was a roguelike like no other when it was released in the year 2018. The game has been awarded numerous awards and is widely regarded as one of the best games ever made. It's not a surprise that the game resonated with the public, due to its rich narrative that is rooted in Greek Mythology, stories of familial struggles and LGBTQ+ representation which feels organic and inclusive. It was no surprise to the fans when Supergiant announced that a sequel would be in the works. Now, seven years after the first release, Hades 2 is finally getting early access. And while it doesn't change much mechanically, the passion and effort that Supergiant invested in Hades 2 is clear from the beginning. According to the Steam page for Hades 2, “the game brings back all the elements that made it so unique in the first game isometric view: clearing rooms, selecting boons, and unleashing powerful attacks, the Hub World with the presence of a fully voiced character to interact with and learn from, and the ever-changing Underworld.” In addition to these reintroduced features, the technical test adds some new ones too. You can unlock permanent upgrades for Melinoe and a new weapon. You can also control the witchy companions, unravel mysteries at the Arcana Altar and gather reagents to boost your skills. The most exciting addition is probably Omega attacks that are a brand new way to boost the power of your weapons and spells. These attacks will charge your magick meter, allowing you to unleash devastating attacks that cover a huge effects over a vast area. This is a new method to add an additional dimension to the battle of combat. Hades 2 beta is available both on Steam and Epic Games Store. The date of release for the full version of the game is not known however, Supergiant has promised to keep fans updated as they work towards the 1.0 release in 2024. In the meantime, you can make a wishlist for the game on either platform to be informed when it is released. 4. Hades 2 Release Date After a successful technical test the roguelike dungeon crawler Hades 2 has launched into early access on PC. Supergiant Games' sequel follows Melinoe on her quest to free her father and defeat Chronos. Hades 2 promises to deliver all of the great mechanics from its award-winning predecessor and an adaptation of the story that is that is rooted in Greek mythology and the beginning of witchcraft. Steam and Epic Games Store are both available to those who wish to purchase the game. Early access buyers will be able to play the game in all future versions. Hades 2 will be released in its entirety at the end of 2024. While the roguelike's 2022 launch date is a ways off but the early access version has already piqued the interest of players. A livestream that aired the technical test revealed some information about the game's characters and gameplay. During the stream, developers spoke about their plans to add new characters, regions, and challenges in the coming months. They also discussed how they will make combat more enjoyable by adding more skill-based skills. In the FAQ, Supergiant explained that the early access version of Hades 2 will include “at least as many levels of enemies, voiced characters and key areas as [the] finished version of the original Hades.” The team plans to continue development until 2024. This means that the 1.0 release may be several months off. The trailer for Hades 2 features the Underworld Princess, Melinoe, fighting the cool witch Hecate. Supergiant claims that Melinoe's look and personality will be similar to Zagreus even while the character isn't an exact remake. The character was also based on a Greek mythological character that the studio modified for the story of Hades 2 If you're considering buying Hades 2, it might be a good idea to wait for the full 1.0 release instead of jumping right into the early access version.
